We’re John and Jessica Harper.
What started as a place we loved to vacation quickly became the place we chose to call home—right here in Pagosa Springs.
We’ve been married for 25 years and raised our three boys here. Now that they’re grown, we’re enjoying life as empty-nesters while continuing to build something special together.
Fireside Cabins has been family-owned and operated since 2003, and it truly means something to us to carry that forward. This isn’t just a business—it’s a place we care about, take pride in, and share with every guest who stays here.
With over 20 years of hospitality experience, we’ve created Fireside to feel welcoming, comfortable, and easy—like a place you can settle into, not just stay at.

At Fireside, each cabin is its own private space. Not a room. Not a unit. A place to relax, spread out, and feel at home.
Our property sits on seven acres with river access, giving you room to breathe, explore and unwind—whether that’s with your morning coffee outside, time with family, or simply enjoying the quiet.
We’re not a traditional hotel and that’s intentional.
You won’t find a formal front desk or concierge. Instead, you’ll find a small, friendly team that’s here to welcome you, help if you need anything and then give you the space to enjoy your stay your way.

We keep things simple and have a few guidelines in place to help maintain the quality of each cabin for all of our guests.
We’re also dog lovers and are happy to welcome well-behaved dogs to Fireside. At the same time, we have a few clear pet rules to help keep our cabins clean and comfortable for everyone.
